Planning for the South Island RAG Rally is well underway. This year it’s to be held in Hokitika from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November, which is Canterbury Show weekend.

Based at 252 Beachside Motels and Holiday Park, 252 Revell St, Hokitika, you are offered a variety of accommodation according to your needs or budget.  Book early to avoid disappointment. Contact Brian at 252 direct on 0508 252 252 but, when booking, please mention that you are part of the “BMWOR” group.

Hopefully if enough attend we may get a concession.

For further details about 252’s facilities and tariffs visit their website.

There will be BBQ breakfasts onsite both the Saturday and Sunday mornings.  The breakfasts, which consist of , two eggs, two rashers of bacon, one sausgae, one tomato, toast and tea will be cooked up by the attendies, so bring your spatula!. Saturday night’s dinner will be at a handy restaurant.  Hopefully there will be both a road and a GS ride and Ross Williams, Marlborough Area Rep, is working on the routes.  He’s planning for the two to meet at certain scenic or historical spots.

There will be more about these rides in newsletters leading up to November.  A Tee Shirt will be commissioned for the event if there are enough people registered.  The cost per person for the RAG rally is $31.00; which covers the two breakfasts and a “T” shirt in the same format as last year.

A good website to look at for attractions and things to do in Hokitika

Please let Ross know if you have any suggestions or questions or if you anticipate going.  His contact details are rmw@paradise.net.nz or ph (03) 578 6136 or 021 377 641.
